Cargo side wall semi trailer is usually just called sidewall trailer or side wall semi trailer for short. The only difference between the side wall semi trailer and flatbed semi trailer is the side wall or side boards. Flatbed semi trailers don’t have the side boards, while side wall semi trailers have them. The side wall can be low or high depending on customer’s needs.
The side boards are usually disassembled prior shipping and stacked on top of each other to save space during transportation. Once they arrive their destination, the side boards can be assembled very easily.
On the cargo side wall semi trailer, the frame is the main component used to support the load and install traction pins, suspension, landing gear and other devices.
The side beams are generally channel steel or bending parts. At present, most trailers use channel steel . There will be more side beams for for light-body trailers because the requirements for strength are not too high. The support beam is the through beam, which are mostly W beams now.
